In a field of its own, the HPX300 delivers impressive, high-resolution recording using AVC-Intra and industry-standard DVCPRO HD, but also supports standard definition recording in DVCPRO50, DVCPRO and DV formats for complete flexibility.

The multi-format camcorder also offers native 24p (23.98 fps), making it an affordable digital cinema solution for indie film production. Its newly designed 3-MOS imager utilizes a redesigned optical block, high-precision prism bonding and a new 20-bit digital signal processor (DSP) to provide exceptional image quality while minimizing any flare and chromatic aberration. Its high resolution LCOS color viewfinder (1,226,000-dot) and 3.2-inch LCD color monitor (921,000-dot) provide clear image reproduction even when shooting in bright outdoor areas.

The HPX300 offers a broad range of creative features including variable frame rates, six advanced gamma functions, Chromatic Aberration Compensation (CAC), built-in scan reverse, Dynamic Range Stretch (DRS) function, waveform and vector scope display and focus assist tools. The Sony HVL-LBPA using LED as a light source has the advantages of high intensity (600lx, 1m), extended life (10,000 hours), and low power consumption (16w).

The Sony HVL-LBPA is designed to provide the optimum spread for widescreen shooting: it illuminates with uniform intensity right across the field of view. The attached diffuser makes it possible to soften shadows and reduce contrast.

To power the LED light you can use the same L Series batteries(NP-F970/770) that are used for HVR-V1E, making this accessory as cost-effective as it is useful.

It can be operated for about 3 hours with the NP-F970 battery. When the HVL-LBPA is attached to the cold shoe of the camcorder it is possible to use the battery adapter to achieve a good weight balance for the camcorder.
